Beginning January 1, 2021, the Bureau of Insurance is changing the duration of agent licenses from a perpetual basis to a biennial basis based on their birth month and year.  License renewal fees will be $10 every two years per line of authority.  Continuing education due dates also will change.  Also, new Virginia licensees who live in Virginia will be fingerprinted for state and federal background checks.  These changes are designed to provide the Bureau more regular up-to-date contact and other information, including criminal history and disciplinary actions.
